Here are some helpful links to knitting sites, places where you can buy the materials to make a Red Sweater, and websites that you can refer to for information on the war in Iraq.
How to Knit:
These sites will remind you of the basics. If you are having trouble, please email us and we will be happy to answer your questions.
www.wonderful-things.com/newknit.htm - this is my new favorite site for knitting techniques.
Where to buy supplies:
You can find knitting needles at just about any craft, hobby, or yarn store. I suggest using a #6 circular needle. Mine has about 12" of plastic connecting the needles, which is just the right size to accomodate this mini sweater. A longer cord would get in the way, and a shorter cord wouldn't give you enough room to work. You can also order knitting needles online, if you don't have this size in your arsenal. I have never ordered needles online, so I can not vouch for any of these sites. They sell yarn, needles, notions, whatever you need for your knitting project. Go ahead and let me know if you prefer one site or another, or want to suggest another site for me to add to this list.
Sites for Red Heart yarn in Cherry Red (0319)...
This looks like the best site to buy the yarn. Joann doesn't seem to offer cherry red online, but might be less expensive in their store if you can find it.
Many stores carry Red Heart yarn, needles, and notions. Here are a few suggestions, but I would call first to make sure they have what you're looking for. Many of these stores only offer Red Heart yarn in person, and not through their websites. I'm including these links so that you can search for the locations and phone numbers of stores near you.
Sites for the rising death toll...
www.antiwar.com(This is the site I use to find the number of sweaters we need to knit.)
Please let me know if there are any other sites you'd like me to include on this page.
