Red Sweaters Articles
You can find the Red Sweaters project in the following publications:
1 page spread in the Holiday'05 edition of Vogue Knitting.
The Fall/Winter 2005 edition of "Family Circle Easy Crochet (plus knitting)" magazine ran a 1 paragraph article about Red Sweaters. You can find it on page 10 in the "get hooked" section. This magazine is a great read, so pick it up even if you don't want to see the article! But make sure you grab the right one - there is also "Family Circle Easy Knitting (plus crochet)" - which is not the same! Find both in your local yarn store.
KnitNet, an online knitting magazine (www.knitnet.com), published an article in their Spring'05 Edition. Unfortunately, this article is no longer available for reading. But you may be able to find it in their archives.
www.flickr.com - search for "red sweaters" to see pictures that volunteers have taken of their sweaters.
Blogs - there are many people who have mentioned this project in their blogs. Unfortunately, I don't have a list of them! You can probably search www.blogger.com for "red sweaters".
Newsday, a Long Island based newspaper, printed an article titled "YARN ART Red badges of awareness" on March-30, 2005. Click here to read the article - scroll to the bottom of the page.
The article was put on their syndicate and picked up by many other publications across the country, including the Contra Costa Times and Fort Wayne's The Journal Gazette and Bay Area Living and Sun Sentinel in Florida and The Clarion Ledger in Mississippi.
San Francisco Chronicle - I know the project was mentioned in the Chronicle, but I never saw the article, so I don't know exactly when it ran. Sorry!
The Progressive - www.progressive.org online and printed publication. I loaned my copy to someone, so I don't have the exact date of the article, but Red Sweaters was in there!
